The craftsmanship surprised me! I like these alot and my kids are already asking for some too. Wish some different color options were available like OD green or orange but I'm going to actually wrap the handle in color duct tape and a glow bead to personalize it. Definitely buying the 6pk soon. Ample storage space in handle and appears to be solid reel for what it is. Hope the pull weight can handle some strong fish pulling but time will tell.

I have not used this yet as it is a gift so I can’t speak for functionality however this looks like it could definitely be used for a long time especially for what it’s advertised for! I’m not going to lie I wasn’t exactly expecting what appears to be 3D printed plastic but it makes for a very durable lightweight product that can be carried and stored anywhere you may need it; as well as a more comfortable user experience due to the reduced weight! The storage compartment was much larger than I had expected which will be great for storing multiple lures, hooks, line, sinkers, etc. This makes a great gift for an outdoorsman/outdoorswoman!

As described. Works well. We use it on the vent of our battery box at our cabin. We always had a problem with gases coming from the batteries even though we installed a passive vent, but since we installed this we don't have any problem with gas coming from the battery box. Our CO/gas alarm stay quiet since then. Exactly what we were looking for.

I used it to make a simple composting toilet for my van. The included template was helpful to cut a 5-gallon bucket for a proper fit. I used a reciprocating saw for the first time too. I was able to find a collapsible toilet on Amazon that fit a 5-gallon bucket to contain everything. Pleased with the results. Glad I found this, it saved me a lot of money.

It was about a year old then and looked like it could've easily last many more. I was nervous clamping a hose to the outlet, but the outlet is strong & has held up well to a hose clamp. Everything was perfect and I like the urinal. It makes bathroom breaks much easier when the kids are in the pool or I'm doing yard work. I didn't knock a star off for it, since it was mentioned in the advertisement, but it'd be much easier if a few feet of drain tube was included with the purchase. Just add a couple bucks to the cost and save me the trip to the hardware store.

Simply the best experience possible. The product was cracked (could have very well been MY fault) and the seller exchanged it free of charge; and after talking with me about the dimensions, went to the trouble to re-design the large diverter to something that worked far better for us (the Medium version on the store now, I believe). I'm a worry wart so I contacted seller next day to confirm order was received he responded quickly and assured me it was going to be on it's way quickly and it was. This is a good solid piece that was easy to cut into the vent pipe on my black water holding tank. Now when we flush any smell is fucked out instead of coming in from toilet. I put a switch on it to shut down. I installed the fan housing using a rubber plumbing fitting from home Depot. the fitting reduces from 1 1/2" PVC pipe to 1 1/4" pipe which was a good snug fit right over the fan housing input/output ports. The rubber fitting comes with hose clamps attached to it for securing it to both ends.

Super cool 3rd printed urine diverted. I started on my build and use a 3.5 gal bucket which is a bit shorter than the 5 gal bucket but have the same diameter. I used a 1.3gal diesel gas tank for the urine container. This is tricky to find a container that is 5in or less for the liquid waste.

Took some finagling to install but works great now. It's super sturdy and drains well. If you're installing so the tops of the little hooked arms are flush with the bucket rim (so you can still put a lid on the bucket) I recommend cutting the notches in the bucket with a heavy-duty boxcutter, I tried with a hand saw first and that was a straight up mess.

The toilet was easy enough to install with good instructions. However as a female the diverter is impossible for me at least to aim well enough. Maybe the XL would have worked out better? For my bf it works perfect. Seller answered any questions I had quickly. This for sure beats the $1000 price tag on most composting toilets.

I looked at all the composting toilet companies for my off grid cabin. Johnny Compost was a tenth the price and provides as good or better product than the others. If you have any construction/woodworking skills, you can turn this into a much better looking (and less obtrusive) toilet than you can buy anywhere in the market. Just make sure you have 12v power for the exhaust fan.

Love this setup. Normally, I'm a DIYer all the way. But setting up a toilet in my van was an area where I figured others would have better ideas. This is the ONLY fabricator I could find that is making urine diverters with venting attachments. His products are high HIGH quality, not cheap or flimsy plastic. The instructions are thorough and easy to understand. The templates for cutting your waste receptacle (or poo bucket, lol) are extremely helpful. It even has detailed plans for building your own toilet box. I can't say enough good things about this kit. Worth EVERY penny.

Just set it up, and it works great! Snapped it to a 3 gal bucket, put a slightly smaller bucket inside with a compostable bad, a skinny 32 oz bucket for liquids inside just fits, a pipe foam insulation around the lid, and boom, saved $1000 and a bunch of space on a composting toilet for my Land Cruiser.

This fan was exactly what I was looking for to create a negative airflow from the battery box in my RV. It was super easy to install and connected right to my solar controller load terminals. I still plan to tie in a timer though to reduce the constant draw even if it’s .1 amp. Super quiet as well.

4 stars for the responsiveness of the vendor. I had been just making my own diverters. In my recent build I thought I would splurge and get one that was premade. I thought it would require less hobbled together connections. I was wrong. Getting a hose that fit the nipple on the diverter but was also able to flex into the collection without sharp angles was an adventure. Then I discovered that any volume of liquid would overflow. I ended up having to JBweld a back wall onto the diverter. It did push me to build a toilet box since just mounting it on my homer bucket wouldn't allow enough height for the drain. When I reached out to Jonny Compost they were very nice and tried hard to resolve my problems. they even offerred to make one with a wall. I wish I had reached out before I had spent tons of time and frustration

This has been a game changer for us so far, thanks! Plumbed right into greywater drainage (so no more emptying of containers!), the XL diverter is really well designed and does all it promises. I really like having the option of having it sit on the bucket or attaching it to the lid to allow for full bucket space use. I was pleased with Josh's quick responses to questions I had, as well as the instructions and bucket cutting template provided with the mailed package. The instructions that come with the kit are so well done and thorough; you can tell this kit was thoughtfully put together. Have not truly tested it out yet (because I haven't officially moved into my motorhome) but I have no concerns about its functionality. I plan to line 5 gallon plastic pail with plastic trash bag using Home Depot peat moss available in a compressed brick for $12 that will last months. Used the HD product on my sailboat and found it to work well.

All of the described specs were accurate, and installing the diverter on our DIY composting toilet (read: Lowe's bucket inside a box we painted with a toilet seat on top) was a breeze. The template he included helped a lot with making sure the cut was accurate. We've been using the diverter now for a few weeks and have had no issues. 10/10, zero complaints.

Great product, I was able to get all my questions answered before the purchase. I ended up using a 6 gallon bucket which changed the box dimensions a little bit. I did realize at the very end I could have cut the seat hole in the wood platform back an inch or two to make room for the vent attachment that goes in front of the diverter. Overall very happy and less then a quarter of the cost of the nature’s head I currently have!!

10/10 would purchase from JohnnyCompostToilets again. I haven't installed the unit yet but as someone who has worked a lot with 3d prints I am very happy with the quality. The shipment (through no fault of the seller) got stuck at the Canadian border customs for an ungodly amount of time but after reaching out to the seller he was very quick to respond and kept an eye on it, updating me with what he was seeing on his end until it arrived.

It came right when they said it would and It looked exactly like you see in the photos and although I had never done anything like this before I was able to follow the simple instructions, set the template in place and with a box cutter I soon had a gaping hole in the side of my bucket. I did have to do a little shaving here and there to get a perfect fit. I am so pleased! we have been using this for a month now and I would defiantly recommend to all my fellow boondockers and van life friends.

Awesome urine diverter - really nice SIZE. It’s been working great for us, love the size. Right now, it’s connected to a bucket with a luggable Loo seat (we cut notches on the bucket so the diverter could be seated at the same height as the rim of bucket (but that makes the diverter shorter so doesn’t quite work with a hose to milk carton unless we raise the entire bucket on something...something for you to know). It’s temporarily in our RV right now while we travel. Eventually I’d like to attach it to the underside of something like the Loveable Loo so that the bucket doesn’t lose space. Really nice update to Josh’s diverters!

So great! Well designed & constructed and so far works great. I was a little concerned that because it's so shallow it would splash but that hasn't been a problem so far. I might still make little "walls" around the back just in case... Only reason for a docked star is the little clips that hold the diverter on the rim of the bucked are not sized correctly (I'm using a 5 gallon blue Lowe's bucket). It appears they're just a little too small to fit all the way over the lip -- they don't "snap" on properly, and if you force it they'll break. As a result, the diverter isn't level with the rim and tilts upward a bit. Not a huge deal; still works fine and holds on to the rim fine but in the next update I would increase the sizing of those a little bit. Alternatively, I can trim the lip of the bucket with a box cutter!

Shipping was quick, communication with the seller is great, and the diverter works well. We use this with the Loveable Loo. We had to trip our Home Depot bucket't top rim down a bit more so that it could fit with the diverter attached to it, in the Loveable Loo but that wasn't difficult. We used a box cutter to trim the bucket. You also need to trim the front of the bucket for the diverter to sit properly, and the diverter had a template for us to use.

We have purchased this diverter previously with no issues. This model, however, seems to be more flimsy. One of the clips that attaches the diverter the 5 gal. bucket snapped the first time we tried to attached it. We didn't bother attempting to return it because we needed the diverter immediately. Dispite being broken, it functions ok- only issue is that we have to lift the diverter up to ensure that it drains completly. Edit- Seller reached out immediately with a solution to my concerns. Excellent customer service! Thank you!

Was completely satisfied with this product. When I first bought it I didn’t even hesitate to buy it and after receiving it I’m so glad I did. I’m building a composting toilet in my RV van and I think this kit is a must have if you want to build a hassle free composting toilet without spending $800 or more on the other products. Thank you! UPDATE: We’re in love with this toilet. Made a few modifications to it. For example, the top part of the toilet was put on hinges so that we could get to it from the top and we put a closed bottom and added silicone to all the corners so that if there were any accidents, we wouldn’t have any issues. It wasn’t hard to do these modifications and I would suggest it to anyone wanting to buy this. Also- NO SMELL! This is amazing for us since we live in a van. Again, no regrets with this purchase!

Well this kit is all those things you forgot to buy or didn't know you needed. Seriously! I bought all the wood, hinges, screws, glue, bucket, pee tank, and toilet seat. This is the second product I've bought from Johnny Composts and am super happy with the product. They have great communication, fast shipping, great quality and useful designs. The bucket-contained model fits on the Hassock Potty however it doesn't fit with a snap on toilet seat, Luggable Loo. The tabs going over the bucket are too big to fit in the 'snap on' channel. Fortunately I have a Hassock to use it on. *edit. I cut a couple of notches in the bucket and got it to work with the Luggable Loo

Josh and his products have both exceeded my expectations. The in-bucket urine diverter works well, it took a little longer for my fiancée to get used to adjusting her spray so it didn’t over flow on the sides. I think it’s just her, and not the diverter. I used a skill saw to cut through the (7 gallon bucket with identical lip as a 5 gallon works great) bucket after tracing the included template with a sharpie marker. Using a mixture of peat moss and pine shavings for cover material. Excellent product. A+++ customer service—stellar! Adding the ventilation kit next. Thank you very much.

While I really needed a urine diverter, I couldn't find anything that would fit my exact application. While his product was really close, I needed a couple extra custom parts to make it work exactly the way I wanted. Which he created for me at minimal extra cost and I couldn't be happier. Shipping was quick. If I recall correctly, it shipped the day after placing the order and took 3 business days to arrive. Which is fine for Arizona to Florida. I would highly recommend this seller and products to anyone!!! One note: I saw one review that someone was snubbing the fact that it is made with a 3D printer. I can tell you that the urine diverter is rock solid / high quality and the fact that it is made with a 3D printer is irrelevant...end of story.

Don't normally review but saw a review that didn't make sense. Shipping was early. Cutout template worked perfectly. Taped it to the bucket and cut the bucket with a hack saw. You can also use a fine-toothed, thin bladed wood saw, I'm sure. Also bought the in-line ventilator housing. Fits a standard 60mmx25mm computer fan perfectly (Noctua NF-A6x25). Cord hole lined up well. Will post some pictures once installed. If there is a complaint about the 3D printing, just lightly sand the part to get rid of the texture if that bothers you. One could make the argument that a smooth surface would be better to limit surface area for urine to accumulate but you should follow urine with a light water bath anyway. Will lightly sand mine and report back. Nice product.
