DIY Composting Toilet Urine Diverter and Ventilation Attachment, In-Bucket Model V2

Composting Toilet Urine Diverter and Ventilation Attachment turns your RV, Tiny Home, Cabin or favorite getaway bathroom into an affordable composting toilet.

The only Patent-Pending Urine Diverters designed to work with 5 gallon bucket set-ups! Though they are not limited to 5 gallon bucket set-ups, providing great flexibility, their unique design allows for maximum clearance for your bucket and solid waste. Other diverter styles impede your bucket, causing: you to dump the solids more often; have your bucket off-center, making your toilet housing enclosure way larger than necessary and compromised; they are bulky to the point your bucket will be far from the seat causing messy problems. Not with ours!

This is for a DIY or homemade composting toilet. It is a urine diverter, which separates liquids from solids, sending the liquids to a separate collection container. Urine Diverter and Ventilation Attachment only, hoses and tubes not included. This Diverter requires your bucket to be cut, template provided (we do have other Diverters that do not require cutting your bucket, check them out in my main shop!). Ventilation works well with 1.25" sump pump hose (we recommend Little Giant 1.25” sump pump hose), I use this fan for ventilation inline with sump pump hose: 75x75x30mm 75mm Dual Ball Bearing Computer 12V DC Brushless Turbo Blower Cooling Fan -OR- 60x60x25mm Computer Fan (60mm fan is the most popular), such as: GDSTIME DC 12V Brushless Cooling Fan 60x60x25mm (please visit my store here for inline fan attachment options). Fans can be found in AC, DC, or USB power, any brand will do (Noctua brand fans are very quiet). Urine Diverter works with .75" I.D. tubing that runs to a collection container (IMPORTANT: be sure the end of the tube, where the liquid exits, does not get submerged in the liquid along with the suggestion of using plumber/Teflon tape and a hose clamp to secure the tube to the diverter). 1.25" sump pump hose and .75" tubing can be purchased at most hardware stores or check my store for tubing availability (recommended for the Little Giant 1.25” sump pump discharge hose and can be found by searching the terms: Little Giant SPDK Sump Pump Discharge Hose Kit, 1-1/4” Hose – 1-1/2” & 1-1/4” Adaptors). Please message me with any questions!

-"In-Bucket V1” model with integrated ventilation (cuts into bucket, other model)

-"In-Bucket V2” model with integrated ventilation (cuts into bucket, this model)

-“Snap-On” model (snaps on top without cutting bucket with optional ventilation attachment, other model)

-“Mounted-Diverter” model (mounts to underside of toilet seat or toilet box/enclosure, other model)

-“Bucket-Contained Diverter” (the most compact compost toilet set-up, hangs on rim of bucket, drains inside or outside of bucket, other model)

--all work with or without bags

The Vent Attachment is completely optional to use and is supplied incase you decide to use it in the future. There is geometry over the hole to prevent liquid from escaping. That being said, I can offer a rubber plug, if desired. It's really not necessary, but may offer peace of mind. Just let me know.

Made using Industrial Additive (3D) Manufacturing Equipment.

Use Example:
It's for a homemade style of composting toilet to replace the toilet in an rv, tiny house, off-grid homestead, cabin, or what have you. In an rv, you can now open both tank gates and keep the cap on and double your grey tank while using no water for the toilet, more time in the woods without having to run to town. We put a 13 gallon bag in a 5 gallon bucket, sprinkle organic matter under and over the "business", we use those giant bags of cedar chips meant for gerbil bedding for the sprinkles (some use coconut husk, sawdust, etc.), and slide on the urine diverter which collects the liquid in a separate container. Build a housing around it and install a toilet seat. The liquid and solid separation takes care of the smell and the ventilation attachment helps, too. It makes everything less stinky and way easier to dispose of. Drain the liquid once every one or two days and take out the bag once a week with the trash or compost it. Works in setups without bags, as well.

Thank you!
